Candidate Interview Checklist
- Always make sure you know, the date and time of the interview. If you are unsure of any details please contact Allstaff.
- Make a note of the name of the contact you are there to see, and their occupation for example :
Mr. Joe Bloggs - General Manager
- There are many useful websites that give you directions to places using postcodes. Allstaff can email you with a link to a website such as this. When you click on this link it will give you a journey time and directions. Please use the journey time as a guide - it does not account for traffic nor does it offer routes avoiding schools or other busy roads.
- If you are travelling via public transport Allstaff can email you times and places of buses/trains. Please use this as a guide. Buses/trains are sometimes early therefore please arrive a few minutes earlier than the pickup time suggests. However public transport can also arrive late or take longer than expected. Ensure you leave plenty of time .
- We ALWAYS recommend leaving plenty of time for your journey and for the interview, it is not wise to arrange something to do when "you think" the interview will be finished, this limits the interview time, and limits your chance of success.
- We advise you to look at the company's website before you visit. Many companies will display useful information about their company, this is very helpful as it gives you background knowledge, and may be asked by the interviewer.
- Another tip for an interview is to think of some questions before you go, write them down if it helps to remember them. This tells the interviewer that you have thought about the interview before you have got there, and that you are serious about the position.
- When you arrive at the interview shaking hands with the interviewer always makes a good impression.
- When the interviewer asks you questions try to balance them out. For example , if they ask you why you left your previous job, start with a positive comment and then fully explain any negative issues before ending the conversation with another positive comment.
- When leaving your interview, shake hands once again and thank the interviewer for their time.
- Please contact Aidan at Allstaff Employment after your interview to discuss how you feel it went.
Finally good luck from Allstaff.
