This is our third year running a competition to see which eating establishment can send us a picture of the "Most Appealing Christmas Dish". We have had some fantastic entries over the years but obviously there is only ever one winner!Unfortunately, there is never a cash prize simply  the satisfaction of a picture of your dish, your name and company name displayed in  our office for one year, also displayed on our Facebook page. We imagine that nearly everyone has a Christmas menu running now so please send us pictures of your dishes with descriptions too! We will let you know how our search for the "Most Appealing Christmas Dish " goes!

Temporary Staff over Christmas

As you're all perfectly aware Christmas is a busy time for the Catering and Hospitality industry, which usually means it is a busy time for our temporary desk too, which is excellent! Although, in an effort to make things run as smoothly as possible we recommend that you book staff as soon as you are aware of dates and time you require them. We will, of course, always strive to fill bookings with even the smallest notice, however, over such a busy period we cannot guarantee we will find you staff.

National Media blamed for talking down jobs in hospitality

In an article published by Big Hospitality it was evident that the national media were 'talking down' the hospitality industry and its jobs and that they need to turn it around and start promoting it to help restaurants, hotels and pubs fill vacancies and show job seekers that it is a worthwhile career.

In an article Gerry Brown, strategic manager at hospitality skills council people 1st, said recent reports of job seekers and graduates said they were 'being forced to find a job behind a bar' because of job shortages in the current economic climate made the industry appear as if it was a last resort and that we need to say that we don't want people who think they'll get a job behind a bar, we want professionals who have chosen hospitality as a career'.

Let us know if you think that the media has been 'talking down jobs' and how we could change the perception of the industry.

We like to think of all our candidates as stars! If you would like to meet them and find out why we rate them so highly please call to speak to either Tim or Aidan. If you have a position you would like us to assist you with, please talk to us.
